What’s In A Name?

The name Laser TAG Designs, while being an obvious play (no pun intended) on the game laser tag, TAG are the owner, my husband, Todd’s initials. However clever (or not) the name may be, it has been the origin of some confusion. We recently moved and our neighbors and the kids in the neighborhood could not have been more disappointed when after seeing our van with Laser TAG on it, they found out it wasn’t the laser tag game moving into their neighborhood. Then there is the issue with billing. There have been many times after purchasing an item from us our customer checks their bank or credit card statement. When they see Laser TAG, they think, I haven’t played laser tag in years! Most of the time, it is an easy fix, requiring a conversation reminding them of their purchase with us. Needless to say, we have gotten better about reminding our customers that the transaction will be billed as Laser TAG so they are not confused. Despite all of the confusion, we wouldn’t change the name. Why? The fact that Todd’s initials are TAG and his company designs and sells laser engraved items and gifts just made the name Laser TAG seem like it was meant to be. The double entendre, while being the origin of confusion is also the foundation of what we do. It is what you do when you engage us to design a project or gift. It is what we encourage you to do when you have that important project or special gift- TAG someone. When you TAG someone, it is a distinctive, memorable and treasured gift that shows great thought went into it. Here are a few examples of people you may want to TAG:

1) TAG someone you want to thank.

2) TAG someone you care deeply for.

3) TAG someone who’s business you would like to have.

4) TAG someone who’s business you already have and would like to keep.

5) TAG someone you know that needs a little sunshine in their lives.

6) TAG someone who recently helped you out in a pinch.

7) TAG someone who is always there for you.

8) TAG someone you are rooting for.

9) TAG someone you admire.

10) TAG someone just because.

Here at Laser TAG Designs, we have been thinking a lot about you, lately. Specifically, we have been giving a lot of thought to how and why our customers choose custom laser designs and engraving for their gifts. It turns out that our clients choose us because they have an important and meaningful message they want to convey to an individual they value highly. In Laser TAG language, our customers and clients use us to "tag" someone and recognize their impact and importance in their lives.

When the gift is more than a gift and the recipient is someone important to you, you cannot find a better way to express your feelings than a thoughtful gift with custom laser engraving.  Here are just a few examples of the ways our customers have thanked, honored, loved and congratulated their recipients with unforgettable gifts they will appreciate and treasure for a lifetime:

1)    Bamboo cutting board with the laser-engraved handwritten recipe of grandmother’s  world famous apple pie.

2)    Gifts for wedding party of flasks groomsman and handwoven bags for bridesmaids, each engraved with their own initials.

3)    Precut wood salvaged from family’s farm laser-engraved with patriarch’s photo.

4)    A couple who’s alma maters are fierce competitors received a gift engraved with their two colleges and the phrase, ‘A House Divided’ as an anniversary gift.

The possibilities are endless and only limited by your imagination.  Bring your ideas and together we can make sure that your gesture and gift is treasured for years to come.
